You took away
those flowers
that faded
last night.

Cleared the skies
of dying stars.

Today as though
nothing were undone,

desire is intention's
broken wing.

Then the pleasure
sitting in a chair
to put my shoes on.

Immaculate needlework.

An inner river.

No boat
where I came from
to bring me
home.

Startled
the heart . . .

heart stopt
by sheer delight.

The deerpark
at Benares.
